Assertive Community Treatment
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) offers an intensive, community-based, team approach to care for adults with serious mental illness whose illness demonstrates less responsiveness to traditional clinic treatment services, resulting in relapse, frequent use of crisis services and repeated psychiatric hospital stays. The comprehensive and intensive services of the ACT program helps people with serious mental illness live in the community, reduce hospitalizations, and improve their quality of life.
ACT teams provide a variety of services, including:
-
Mental health treatment
